The Product Quality Specialist is responsible for organizing activities to ensure Product Integrity processes are followed.  Ensures product delivered is achieving quality standards through performance of internal and external audits and is proficient in technical and non-technical skills to ensure the continued success of the department and quality of oversight provided to the business.

Primary Duties

  • Validate footwear quality issues when identified, working with account managers, brand and Quality Assurance leaders. 
  • Identify and investigate quality issues with product and make recommendations to brands and factories regarding resolutions to the issues.
  • Update Quality Issue Resolution (QIR) tracker regarding validity of quality claim, remediation, and resolution in a timely manner.
  • Validate claims and work with Regional Quality Assurances teams (RQA) on behalf of the distributor and Brands, regarding the remediation of product claims with validated quality issues.
  • Arrange and coordinate sample requests with various WWW functions 
  • Lead quality review meetings and publish reports with the brands on a predetermined cadence to ensure information is shared; quality issues are addressed and resolved as quickly as possible. 
  • Collaborate with the brands on priorities for inspection, rework and inspection criteria.
  • Manage First Case process:  inspect first production shoes from factory validating quality to confirmation sample/specifications reviewing the business. 
  • Create, maintain, and distribute required reports.
  • Perform duties consistent with the company’s AAP/EEO goals and policies.
  • Perform other duties as required/assigned by manager.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

  • 3-5 years inspection and quality experience
  • Quality certifications such as ISO or ASQ, or Bachelors degree preferred
  • Knowledge of manufacturing or quality management required, within footwear or apparel industries strongly preferred
  • Solid organizational, communication and follow-up skills
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision, but collaboratively across teams and geographies
  • Able to problem solve and work under pressure to achieve desired outcome
  • Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel required.
  • Able to manage and work with a variety of different people
  • Able to travel as needed (estimated <10%)

WORKING CONDITIONS

Normal office and/or warehouse environment, some lifting of boxes required up to 30lbs.
