The Saucony Product Performance Analyst is responsible for ensuring that all Saucony product is evaluated using appropriate protocols for fit, comfort, performance and durability. The role will partner with the Saucony Product Teams to establish, document and maintain protocols for prototype and production product. The Product Performance Analyst will conduct necessary tests using sensory analysis protocols and will provide feedback on test results and engage in determining appropriate next steps.

Job Description

  • Establish, document, and maintain sensory analysis protocols to create pass/fail criteria for fit, comfort, and durability of prototype and production products given the various development stages and functional product goals; partner with product team to drive data-based analysis of product performance
  • Conduct tests to determine fit, comfort and durability characteristics of prototype and production footwear and apparel using best practice sensory analysis protocols
  • Document, categorize, and summarize test results to establish a product performance database to provide historical context for future testing
  • Organize and lead test review meetings with the Product Team in a timely and efficient manner to ensure test information can be leveraged during the appropriate product development phases
  • Recruit and maintain pool of product testers matched to anthropometric and demographic criteria
  • Partner with Product Teams in initial phases of development of new models to determine risk factors and determine protocols early in the product creation process
  • Conduct physical analysis of prototypes against established specifications to ensure consistency in prototype and production samples; provide feedback to the Product Team during the product creation process

Knowledge Skills & Abilities

  • B.A. in sensory testing, human factors, biomechanics, kinesiology, exercise physiology, psychology or similar training in data collection and analysis with human subjects
  • Experience in sensory testing of consumer products (footwear and apparel preferred)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Knowledge of footwear manufacturing processes
  • Proven independent multi-project management skills
  • Clear and eager communicator
  • Strong connection to running community
