This role supports the execution of Merrell’s seasonal assortment and product strategy for the North America wholesale business while achieving operational efficiencies. The position is well suited for someone who is curious, analytical, organized and commercially minded - someone who enjoys connecting data, product trends and consumer insights to understand what is driving the business and where opportunities exist. This role closely collaborates with Merchandising, Sales, Product, Planning and Marketing. This role is responsible for maintaining data integrity, managing samples, preparing for key meetings, and providing insights into market trends and commercialization.
Primary Duties:
Assist in developing and maintaining consumer-right seasonal assortments for key wholesale channels and markets
Manage operational tasks, including order and sample management, meeting preparation, and data accuracy across all systems.
Support end to end product lifecycle management, from concept and development to new market introductions, in market performance, and end of life decisions
Maintain seasonal assortment tools, segmentation documents, calendars, and product information to support go-to-market readiness.
Prepare and update recurring reports, hindsight summaries and basic analysis of sales, sell-through, and product performance.
Support creation of seasonal merchandising stories, line review materials and customer-facing tools in partnership with Sales, Marketing and Product teams.
Coordinate samples, competitive and retailer insights to support product and assortment recommendations.
Partner with cross-functional teams to support article setup, product loading, forecasting inputs, pagination and other operational readiness needs and ensure deadlines are met
Identify basic reporting trends, data gaps and process opportunities; escalate insights andrecommendations to manager for review.
Develop working knowledge of the Merrell brand, wholesale marketplace, consumer needs and seasonal product creation process.
Performs duties consistent with the Company’s AAP/EEO goals and policies.
Perform other duties as required/assigned by manager.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
Bachelor’s degree in retail merchandising/business or related field, or equivalent work experience.
1-2+ years of corporate, retail, merchandising, planning or related business experience; footwear or consumer goods experience a plus.
Excellent Excel skills and comfort working with pivot tables, lookups and creating dashboards.
Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, PowerPoint, & Adobe Acrobat; able to create clear, accurate and professional materials.
Detail oriented and strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple priorities, timelines and follow-ups in a fast-paced environment
Curious, analytical and eager to build business acumen, product knowledge and marketplace understanding.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with a collaborative approach to cross-functional work and building relationships.
Positive learning mindset, strong follow-through and interest in growing within merchandising and marketplace management.
Demonstrates curiosity around emerging technologies and AI tools that improve analysis, reporting, communication and productivity.
Technology savvy with a willingness to adapt to new tools and processes.
Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain data integrity across multiple tasks
Demonstrates strong awareness of current trends.
Ability to defend and effectively communicate ideas and recommendations across teams.
Working Conditions:
Normal office environment. Some travel is required.
