The Logistics Specialist plays a crucial role in supporting the day-to-day execution of logistics operations, ensuring the timely and cost-effective movement of goods throughout the supply chain. This position is responsible for coordinating shipments, maintaining accurate documentation, and collaborating closely with internal teams and external partners to resolve issues and maintain service levels. The Specialist contributes to process improvements, supports compliance efforts, and helps ensure operational accuracy and efficiency. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a collaborative mindset.

Primary Duties:

Logistics Operational Support

  • Coordinate shipment scheduling, tracking, and delivery confirmations to ensure timely and accurate logistics execution.

  • Track carrier performance, escalate delays or service problems, and investigate shipment discrepancies while assisting with customer complaint resolution.

  • Partner with Supply Chain, Procurement, and Distribution teams to align transportation activities with overall business objectives.

Compliance & Documentation

  • Ensure logistics activities comply with applicable transportation regulations and internal policies.

  • Maintain accurate shipping records, bills of lading, and documentation required for audits and inspections.

  • Assist in preparing documentation for regulatory reporting and audit readiness.

Vendor & Carrier Coordination

  • Communicate with carriers, freight forwarders, and Distribution /warehouse partners to confirm shipment details and resolve minor service issues.

  • Track vendor performance and report recurring issues to senior logistics staff.

  • Support vendor onboarding and documentation processes.

Process Improvement & Technology

  • Contribute ideas to improve logistics workflows and reduce manual tasks.

  • Assist in evaluating the use of logistics systems and tools (e.g., TMS, ERP) related to logistics operations.

  • Help maintain trackers and reports to monitor operational performance.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Function as a point of contact for internal departments regarding shipment status, delivery timelines, and logistics documentation.

  • Communicate logistics updates to stakeholders clearly and promptly.

Documentation & Recordkeeping 

  • Supports audit readiness by maintaining accurate records and following established logistics procedures.

  • Assists in preparing documentation and responding to audit inquiries to ensure compliance.

  • Perform duties consistent with the company’s AAP/EEO goals and policies.

  • Performs other duties as required/assigned by the manager.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent in supply chain management or a related field of business.

  • 1-2+ years of related experience in Logistics, Transportation, or Supply Chain industry and/or college internship (preferred in Logistics, Transportation, or Supply Chain industry)

  • Communication: Demonstrates clear verbal and written communication with team members and leadership. Effectively presents and explains data to enable understanding and support actionable business insights.

  • Process Improvement: Challenge existing processes and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Adaptability: Shows willingness to learn, embrace change, and adjust to new environments and challenges.

  • Data Interpretation: Reads, interprets, and draws accurate conclusions from technical or business materials.

  • Multi-Tasking & Prioritization: Effectively manages concurrent objectives, projects, and activities, making sound judgments on prioritization and time allocation.

Working Conditions:

Normal office environment.

Wolverine Worldwide has a flexible, hybrid work schedule, with three days in office and two days remote.
