We are looking for someone who has a passion for athletic wear product and takes pride in ensuring that every product has a fit for purpose. You understand that attention to detail is paramount, and you will work closely with design team, buying with customer in mind to achieve design and fit intent. You will work daily with globally sourced factories.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Range framework/Buying Direction – Execute the seasonal global product strategy in partnership with your Senior Buyer, considering total business strategy KPIs, range segmentation, supplier base, market trends, sales performance & consumer needs.
  • Assortment Build (All Channels) – Create segmented assortment from the global product range based on channel strategy & opportunities for areas of focus. Partnering with visual merchandise to ensure product presentation effects global strategy .Collaboration with WHSL/3P to determine market nuances.
  • Pricing Architecture - Define, implement, and maintain pricing architecture in line with brand and product positioning for areas of focus. Addressing different needs by currency & changing market trends.
  • Sample Management end to end - Ownership of sample orders and support the team in effective sample management with internal  & external stakeholders. Work with suppliers to develop prototypes and samples that align with the brand & are received inline with the critical path.
  • Product Critical Path – Work with direct reports & suppliers on the accurate capture & adherence of the critical path dates to ensure the on-time delivery of product to the consumer. Taking appropriate actions to avoid delays.
  • Product Education -  Present product strategy insights to wider teams to build knowledge of product and how to deliver this to the consumer.
  • Fit – Attend fits for areas of ownership to ensure style intent, commercial needs and  garment cost price are considered.
  • Supplier Relations - Maintain strong supplier relationships on areas of ownership through clear communication and partnership.
  • Market Place Range Presentations - Present seasonal product assortments to market places for areas of focus.
  • In season trading/Chase - Identify trading opportunities for newness & repeats in line with market trends, performance, & supplier capabilities for areas of focus. Address future risks & action plan in collaboration with planning.
  • Pricing Audits - Accurately maintain seasonal price tables/conversions in the system and support in providing documentation for audits.
  • Price negotiation/Product Engineering - Provide target FOB price to supplier based on RRP and required target margin, and work with supplier to engineer product to price point. Negotiate price based on volume of order and overall buys given to supplier.
  • Sample invoicing (SRS, Press) - Provide context or additional support on sample invoicing queries from invoice team on adhoc basis.
  • Sourcing strategy - Work with GT/Planning to agree and drive sourcing strategy for category, based on business needs and supplier capabilities.
  • Lab dip and strike off approval - Work with cross functional teams & suppliers/mills to coordinate, review & approve lap dips & strike off's for areas of ownership.
  • Bulk colour and trim approval - Work with cross functional teams & suppliers/mills to coordinate, review & approve bulk colour & trims for areas of ownership.
  • System management - Manage direct reports to ensure accurate system maintenance (e.g. PLM, BC) with all required technical information and directly maintain for area of ownership
  • Coach & develop direct reports in line with personal development plans
  • Drive cross functional collaboration & partnerships within the Product teams to ensure timely & successful seasonal launches
  • Additional responsibilities deemed necessary by Sweaty Betty business needs.
