Manage the Internal Audit function under guidance of the Internal Audit Director, ensuring the effectiveness of internal controls, risk management, and governance processes. This role requires strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • Develop and execute comprehensive audit plans, including risk assessments, audit programs, and timelines.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of internal financial controls and recommend improvements to mitigate risks.
  • Identify and assess potential risks to the organization and provide recommendations for mitigation.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, company policies, and industry standards.
  • Prepare detailed audit reports, including findings, recommendations, and action plans, and present them to senior management.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop staff internal auditors, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
  • Collaborate with various departments and levels of management to ensure audit findings are understood and addressed.
  • Monitor the implementation of audit recommendations and report on progress to senior management.
  • Performs duties consistent with the company’s AAP/EEO goals and policies.
  • Performs other duties as required/assigned by manager.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or another related field. Master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., CPA, CIA) is preferred.
  • 5+ years of private industry or public accounting experience, management experience, and/or project planning experience preferred.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely.
  • Excellent attention to detail to ensure accuracy and completeness in audit work.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and build relationships with all levels of the organization, including leadership.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to identify issues and develop effective and risk-based solutions.
  • Strong organizational skills and demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely completion while balancing competing deadlines.
  • High ethical standards and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality and integrity in all audit activities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Proficiency in Workiva preferred.
  • Ability to effectively lead a team to project completion.

Working Conditions:

Wolverine Worldwide has a flexible, hybrid work schedule, with three days in office and two days remote.


Up to 25% domestic and international travel required.
