The Inventory Planner is responsible for managing the overall deployment of inventory around the network. This role applies inventory policies to maintain the desired level of inventory and determines the safety stock levels. This position also creates the recommended buy plan for approval by leaders and Supply Planning and Operations.

  • Calculate net inventory requirements based on current inventory levels and consumed/actualized demand forecast.
  • Assists in the inventory strategy execution to achieve defined KPI’s.
  • Determine the flow strategy i.e., determining which SKU is assigned to which DC.
  • Determine safety stock levels to plan for demand variations based on channel/customer service levels and marketing plans (risk and opportunity).
  • Maintain inventory levels within target guardrails by adjusting PO's when needed as the demand plan actualizes.
  • Manage inventory shifts across channels within business units and recommend markdowns.
  • Participate in monthly alignment meetings with Demand Planning and Supply Planning to ensure inventory plan aligns to business needs and financial plans.
  • Calculate purchase order quantity at the size level.
  • Responsible for Issuance and maintenance of purchase orders.
  • Timely and effective communication with Asia leadership.
  • Collaborate cross functionally amongst multiple departments.
  • Performs duties consistent with the Company’s AAP/EEO goals and policies.
  • Performs other duties as required/assigned by manager.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • 4-year bachelor's degree required: major in business, finance, supply chain, or related field preferred
  • 2+ years experience in inventory planning (footwear preferred), relevant data analysis, business planning, market, and supply chain experience preferred.
  • Strong MS Excel skills: demonstrated ability to quickly manipulate large raw data sets to produce reporting that is intuitive and easy to read/understand, advanced formulas and experience with pivot tables required.
  • Familiarity with enterprise forecasting systems and tools
  • Attention to detail and accuracy on multiple projects under time pressure.
  • Highly analytical and extremely self-motivated with critical thinking mindset
  • Ability to quickly adapt in a highly collaborative environment and a team player.

Working Conditions

Wolverine Worldwide has a flexible, hybrid work schedule, with three days in office and two days remote.
