The Sales Planning Manager is responsible for the sales forecast and planning process for their assigned sales organization. They provide support to achieve accurate sales forecasts using historical sales data, market trends, and other relevant inputs. They will liaison with Sales and Finance to ensure the sales forecast and planning process is implemented with high levels of efficiency and accuracy and aligns with the strategic direction of the brand to drive growth and meet brand financial targets.

Primary Duties:

  • Manage the rolling 12-18 month sales forecasting and planning process within the sales organization for assigned channels.

  • In partnership with sales, lead the annual account planning process inclusive of template management, reporting, analysis and perspective.

  • Produce trend analysis for key accounts, sales territories, etc., on future seasons to enable accurate financial forecasting and to support inventory planning.

  • Create sales forecast for specific channels and customers based on historical inputs and inputs from customers.

  • Provide sell through and sell in analysis, booking target creation, backlog and shipping analysis, retailer sales examination, etc.

  • Partner with Finance to ensure Sales Plan and Financial Plan are aligned (pairs, revenue, margin).

  • Owner of Sales Forecast Template (set up, inputs and maintenance).

  • Calculate, assign and monitor all sales force plans to ensure plans are allocated to all sales channels appropriately. 

  • Manage the maintenance and review of the monthly sales forecast templates received from the sales reps. Update sales forecast based on attainment/accuracy inputs.

  • Compare MFP outputs regarding volume, margin, style adoption requirements by region. 

  • Compare to LRP and Corporate Finance targets to ensure projected volumes are in alignment.

  • Assist with the planning and management of overall inventory levels across the product lifecycle (full-price, phase-out, close-out).

  • Responsible for monthly sales forecast rollup reporting for key meetings in the integrated business planning process and brand milestone meetings. 

  • Performs duties consistent with the Company’s AAP/EEO goals and policies.

  • Performs other duties as required/assigned by manager.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field

  • Diverse functional knowledge required for the role is typically developed by having 6-8+ years of experience in Sales Operations and/or Sales Planning. 

  • Intellectual curiosity and a desire to use data to identify and illustrate product sales and market trends

  • Strong analytics background with financial modeling skills 

  • Proficiency in Advance MS Excel skills 

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships both internally and externally.

  • Ability to understand LRP and Corp Finance Targets and ensure projected volume / MFP outputs are in alignment  

  • Has a broad understanding of Merch, Planning and Supply Chain functions; processes and ERP system

  • Ability to negotiate and gain cooperation between functions

  • Ability to continuously solve problems with independent decision making. 

  • Ability to provide managerial supervision to team members.

Working Conditions:

Normal office environment.  Travel may be required.

Wolverine Worldwide has a flexible, hybrid work schedule, with three days in office and two days remote.
