The Lead Sourcing Analyst within Indirect Procurement is responsible for ensuring that an end-to-end sourcing process is followed to advise the business on best total value in supplier-facing engagements. This responsibility involves successful internal relationships and influence, successful external relationships and negotiation, and bringing recommendations to provide the best total value in product selection, quality, service, and pricing. This position is considered an individual contributor with in-depth knowledge and can exercise independent judgement within Procurement, developing, managing, and ensuring compliance on a variety of programs and activities. This position is also responsible for tracking and reporting savings and providing presentations to senior leadership on a regular basis regarding the projects within the Sourcing Leads scope of responsibility.

Primary Duties:

  • Lead and prioritize sourcing activities according to the company’s timelines and strategies

  • Own and facilitate the RFX process (Request for Quote, Request for Information, and Request for Proposal)

  • Responsible for the development of creative procurement strategies, bringing in supplier and market data, and making proposals to senior leadership accordingly

  • Follows standard practices that ensure compliance on sourcing engagements with policies and procedures, and ensure that the appropriate audit trails are followed including providing finalized contracts to a centralized location

  • Act as lead negotiator, ensuring all parties know their roles, responsibilities, and the overall timeline. Track and report cost savings and cost avoidances that were achieved during negotiations

  • Provide subject matter knowledge to solve complex business issues, working on projects of a diverse complexity and scope

  • Acts as a team or project leader to provide mentorship to more junior employees

  • Exercise independent judgement within Procurement practices to determine and influence appropriate actions and next steps with leadership.

  • Issue and redline agreements and resolve vendor disputes

  • Independently assess procurement challenges and propose data driven solutions using relevant tools and methodologies.

  • Responsible for the creation and management of templates for Supplier Management process (scorecards, questionnaires, supplier meetings, performance reviews) and execution of those activities.

  • Must establish and maintain effective working relationships both internally and externally to influence the project team to achieve or beat challenging goals

  • Analyze and evaluate performance data from underperforming suppliers, develop improvement programs

  • Performs duties consistent with the company’s AAP/EEO goals and policies

  • Performs other duties as required/assigned by manager

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree Supply Chain Management, Business Administration

  • 8+ years Procurement experience

  • Project management skills required

  • Analyzing data and trends

  • Development and implementation of programs

  • Experience and ability in creating new processes and leading the implementation

  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and resolves issues in creative ways

  • Proficient with the Microsoft suite including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

  • Requires excellent written and verbal communication skills including facilitation

  • Clearly and succinctly present information to stakeholders at all levels of management

  • Strong and proven negotiation skills

  • Proven track record of quality decision making skills specific to Procurement/Project Management

  • Highly motivated and results orientated team player who can work effectively across the organization

Working Conditions:

Normal office environment.

Wolverine Worldwide has a flexible, hybrid work schedule, with three days in office and two days remote.
