As an Assistant Manager, you are always on hand to resolve issues and identify fun and fresh ways of doing things and you are loyal and passionate about your customers and your team. Partnering with your manager will give you the chance to make your mark on the store and with plenty of opportunities to grow within the company, this is the ideal role for someone looking to learn more about retail management and develop within the management team.

This role plays an integral support role to the Store Manager in managing the overall operations of the store, driving sales alongside all relevant KPIS and leading & developing a cohesive team of highly motivated employees who can deliver memorable experiences for all our consumers.

Salary Band: Up to £40,000 per annum

As an Assistant Manager at our flagship store, recognized as the highest turnover location within the Sweaty Betty brand, you will play a pivotal role in driving the success of our operations. This position is ideal for a current manager from a lower turnover store or a senior assistant manager ready to take the next step in their career. You will work closely with the Store Manager, taking ownership of the store's commercial decisions and direction, while fostering a loyal and passionate environment for both customers and team members. This role offers ample opportunities for professional growth within the company.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver outstanding service to all customers, exemplifying role model behaviours for the entire team.

  • Collaborate with the Store Manager to drive sales, enhance commerciality, and maintain high standards, ensuring compliance with established policies and procedures.

  • Communicate effectively both on the sales floor and behind the scenes, developing and maintaining relationships across the business, with customers, and with community partners.

  • Partner with the Store Manager to generate innovative and engaging marketing ideas that resonate with our customer base.

  • Take ownership of stock management and execute visual merchandising guidelines, contributing to and achieving store KPIs.

  • Serve as a product expert and knowledgeable trainer, educating your team and advising customers to enhance their shopping experience.

  • Foster a supportive, productive, and inclusive environment that promotes teamwork and accountability among staff.

  • Support the store management team in all aspects of store operations, including opening and closing procedures, cash handling, stock control, merchandising, and maintaining a clean and well-presented store at all times.

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, including health and safety regulations.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required

  • Previous experience in a fast-paced, customer-facing environment is essential.

  • Experience in a leadership or supervisory role is preferred but not mandatory.

  • Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to thrive in a dynamic retail environment.

  • Availability to work a flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

  • A passion for our brands and their lifestyles.

  • A self-starter with ambition, motivated to achieve and exceed store targets for both your team and the store.
