Your main objectives in this role will be to: increase customer satisfaction, optimise stock, maximise growth and optimise margins. You will be an expert in option and range planning, currently managing your own departmental / category level OTB with a proven track record of delivering both sales and profit growth. An ability to quickly familiarise yourself with the company and department will be key as we are looking for someone who can hit the ground running and step straight into this role. You will be planning your department from strategy through to delivery with your Buyer, supported by your fantastic team.

As a Junior Merchandiser, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the planning and trading categories of a department. This role is ideal for someone ready to take on more ownership while still being guided by a Senior Merchandiser. You’ll be responsible for driving commercial success through data-led decision-making, cross-functional collaboration, and mentoring junior team members.
- Assortment & Range Planning: Support the creation of departmental strategy and provide analytics to inform range building and assortment decisions.
- Forecasting & WSSI Management: Maintain and lead actions on the WSSI, ensuring accuracy and alignment with business goals, while communicating key insights to stakeholders.
- In-Season Trading & Reporting: Identify trading opportunities, lead trade discussions for your area, and support regular and ad hoc reporting needs.
- Inventory & Supplier Management: Oversee PO management processes, collaborate with suppliers on strategic planning and fabric management, whilst overseeing team data accuracy across systems.
- Team Development & Collaboration: Manage and develop junior team members, contribute to cross-functional initiatives, and support the wider planning function.
The Must Haves:
- The ability to develop strategic direction but also a trader who can react in the moment.
- Ability to communicate at a senior level, and to key stakeholders.
- Experience of managing your own categories.
- Proactive and positive approach to problem solving.
- Strong analytical and numerical skills, with an attention to detail.
- Excellent IT skills, especially Excel & Merchandising systems.
- The ability to work well as a team and by yourself.
- 1.5 years minimum experience working at Assistant Merchandiser level.
