Senior Front End Developer

Leads front-end development efforts for the eCommerce platform ongoing updates to existing HTML content areas and research on latest technology and functionality. This role will define, implement, and oversee best practices for front-end development across the team, and portfolio of brands globally.

  • Research, set, and enforce front-end web development standards with a focus on maximizing website performance and accessibility best practices. 
  • Responsible for guidance and alignment of internal development resources to achieve timelines and objectives for front-end content production on the eCommerce platform and Content Management System. 
  • Works closely with UX and Optimization teams to develop best-in-class front-end development practices and UX practices and works with the front-end development team to deploy these practices. 
  • Advises and collaborates with the back-end development/technology team on standards, planning, implementation and rollout of ongoing projects and updates. 
  • Ensure clean, maintainable HTML, CSS, & Javascript is consistently used with focus on best-in-class standards, bug free, and performant code. 
  • Collaborates with brand designers and copywriters to develop creative that is optimized to work within the available eCommerce platform templates in a sustainable way and suggests alternative options with full explanation of resource implications. 
  • Translate designs into html/css content that meet W3C standards. 
  • Follow brand standards and web style guides to ensure that the brand is consistently rendered throughout the customer experience. 
  • Ensure documentation of front-end processes and best practices are accurate and up to date 
  • Define and run a code review process. 
  • Performs duties consistent with the company’s AAP/EEO goals and policies. 
  • Performs other duties as required/assigned by manager. 
  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in computer science, information systems, or equivalent work experience. 
  • Prior web/digital development experience. 
  • Intermediate experience hand-coding HTML, CSS & Javascript (familiarity with other web programming languages a plus) 
  • Strong code troubleshooting and problem-solving skills 
  • Strong experience with web technologies, including HTML5, CSS3, SASS/LESS, JavaScript, JavaScript frameworks (e.g., React.js, jQuery, Angular.js) and JSON 
  • Experience with Adobe Photoshop and other graphic-editing tools. 
  • Thorough understanding and experience with responsive design, browser behavior and compatibility, and cross-browser optimization/troubleshooting. 
  • Ability to organize and prioritize multiple goals under tight deadlines. 
  • Strong knowledge and functional understanding of W3C standards. 
  • Experience with web graphic optimization techniques. 
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
