
Footwear Engineer Intern

The Footwear Engineering Intern will work with the Saucony team, to gain hands-on experience in managing and optimizing engineering process. This internship offers a unique opportunity to work closely with cross-functional teams to drive product success.Primary Duties:
Operate and maintain 3D printers.
Operate and maintain 3D scanners.
Assist and support mechanical testing of new materials.
Coordinate and Maintain at a global scale Engineering Data with Asia and USA partners for seasonal workload (2D/3D files) for all molded components.
Support basic CAD needs for Development and Design.
Quality inspection tasking of new Molded Components for inline seasonal workload.
Performs duties consistent with the Company’s AAP/EEO goals and policies.
Performs other duties as required/assigned by manager.
Qualifications:
Student studying Industrial design, Footwear Design or Development, Mechanical Engineering, Plastics Engineering. Somebody with the ambition to be hands on with footwear creation at a technical level in both the soft and hard goods aspects from singular componentry to product assembly.
Must have experience with 3D engineering software. Experience with Rhino is desirable.
Has experience with filament-based 3D printing. Having experience with PrusaSlicer, OrcaSlicer, Kilipper based systems is a plus.
Must be comfortable with being able to use tools to cut and modify shoe or for inspection and or testing.
Experience with MS Office
Ideal candidate is an active runner or student athlete.
