Product Development & Production Assistant

Wolverine Worldwide | London, United Kingdom Job ID 2024-11279

Current employees, please apply in Workday.

We burst onto the scene as the OGs of female-first activewear back in 1998. And since then, we’ve been on a global mission to empower women through fitness and beyond. By uniting a global community of women – our sisterhood – together we encourage one another to embrace our bodies and everything we can do with them.

Our sisterhood treats every day like it’s made for moving, and we’re always pushing to do better too. Like using responsibly sourced materials, launching our first-ever FemTech collection – designed to keep you moving through menstruation, maternity and menopause – and supporting girls from all backgrounds to get into sport through our Sweaty Betty Foundation.

This is an exciting opportunity to join us as a Junior Product Developer & Production as we continue our mission to empower women through fitness and beyond, by ensuring the right product is delivered at the right time and at the right cost. You in?

What You Will Be Doing

  • Updating and managing the critical path from concept to production and ex-factory with Buying, Design and suppliers; ensuring deadlines are adhered to and follow up on all prototype/sample issues to resolve and drive to completion. Identifying and communicating to cross functional partners to mitigate any risks/challenges identified at all stages.
  • Responsible for delivering prototypes and samples on time, supporting your Junior PDP / PDP to manage cost price negotiations and give them the information they need.
  • Managing all post / sampling / trims / lab dip post and deliveries from suppliers and maintaining an organised filing system for all teams to access.
  • Regularly communicating with suppliers and analysing processes and deliveries – summarising critical path movements and outstanding tasks to all teams on a weekly basis
  • Supporting your team in developing your category for product testing to relevant standards, leveraging their technical knowledge and negotiating any aesthetic changes to protect the design vision
  • Attending and participating in critical path and production meetings, internally and with suppliers, keeping up to date with requirements of all proto and samples in preparation for Buy review and subsequent adoption and production
  • Accountable for ensuring relevant systems, e.g. PLM, are kept up-to-date

The Must Haves

  • A natural ability to multi-task with strict adherence to deadlines
  • Strong detail-orientation with excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Proficient in Excel
  • Outstanding communication and follow up skills
  • Eagerness and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, driven by teamwork and collaborative innovation
  • Self-starter and solution oriented

This role is a hybrid role, with 3 days per week based in the Sweaty Betty hub in Kings Cross, London.
