The Business Development Manager plays a pivotal role in strategically spearheading the Work Group’s National Accounts sales channel. This leadership position is dedicated to driving customer acquisition, fostering growth within the existing customer base, and providing oversight to the daily activities of the sales team. The National Account program encompasses all Work Group brands, seamlessly delivered through diverse sales channels, including expansive distributor networks and cutting-edge digital solutions, such as B2B2C sites. This role requires a dynamic and forward-thinking professional capable of navigating multifaceted sales strategies across a spectrum of distribution channels.

Job Description

PRIMARY DUTIES

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy and long-term business development plan for National Accounts, encompassing all brands within the Work Group’s portfolio. 

  • Set clear sales, product, and marketing strategies to acquire new customers and serve existing ones across multiple brands and distribution channels.

  • Develop seasonal financial performance plans, monitoring progress against target revenue and profit goals.

  • Lead the development of sales plans for large accounts in coordination with distributors and the B2B2C channel.

  • Provide guidance, support, and resources to the National Account Manager, ensuring alignment with team targets.

  • Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and market dynamics to inform strategic decision-making.

  • Collaborate with the product team to create customized products for large National Accounts as required.

  • Work with internal and external resources to develop and manage Work Group’s National Account strategies, programs, and assets.

  • Work cross-functionally with internal and external teams to gain support for the business.

  • Maintain excellent senior relationships with key National Accounts.

  • Identify coaching and development opportunities with management to enable team growth and continuous improvement.

  • Perform duties consistent with the Company’s AAP/EEO goals and policies.

  • Perform any additional duties as required/assigned by the manager.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent work experience.

  • 7+ years of sales experience in wholesale retail sectors; preferably in footwear.  Management experience preferred.

  • Extremely motivated, a self-starter and able to work effectively in a team environment and independently.

  • Digital savvy with solid understanding of DTC, B2B, B2B2C sales channels and strong analytical skills.

  • Strong understanding of brand partnership with distributor networks.

  • Must be a strong negotiator and be able to work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong presentation and excellent written communication skills.

  • Experience executing a go-to-market strategy.

  • Ability to motivate and evaluate employee’s performance.

  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).

  • Excellent problem-solving skills.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Normal office environment.  Extensive travel required (50%).  Ability to push, pull and lift up to 50 lbs.

Wolverine Worldwide has a flexible, hybrid work schedule, with three days in office and two days remote.

Salary Minimum

$171,000.00

Salary Maximum

$189,000.00
