The Project Manager coordinates all aspects of major corporate projects and facilitates project decision-making that is rooted in an understanding of WWW’s corporate goals and strategies. Coordinating simultaneous projects, partnership with all levels of the organization, and independent thinking are all necessary for success. General responsibilities will include project definition and planning, progress tracking (including budgets), problem resolution and project implementation.

Job Description

  • Coordinates and actively participates in all aspects of project leadership, including scope and requirements definition, solution evaluation, vendor selection, resource planning, development of milestone schedules and key decision points, and communication planning and execution.
  • Owns leading entire projects and is accountable on a per-project basis to Project Sponsors, Business Owners, or other Senior Leadership Team members.
  • Functions as a strategic consultant on projects; performs contingency planning and advises project stakeholders on observed risks, issues, or concerns.
  • Responsible for all aspects of progress tracking including detailed project plans, scope management, risk/issue identification and resolution, project budget oversight, and status reporting.
  • Leverages proven methods, processes, templates, and techniques to complete tasks.
  • Provides mentorship to corporate stakeholders on project management methods and practices.  Maintains basic project management templates for use by lay project managers.
  • Assumes a lead role in process mapping exercises for the purpose of process improvement or problem identification and resolution.
  • Maintains technical and business proficiency through formal education and work assignments.
  • Performs duties consistent with the company’s AAP/EEO goals and policies.
  • Performs other duties as required/assigned by manager.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or its foreign equivalent) in a Business discipline, Information Systems or related field or equivalent work experience; MBA a plus
  • 2-7 years’ project management experience, including multi-disciplinary project leadership
  • IT project management experience strongly preferred
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification a plus
  • Ability to lead others in formal and informal structures, including highly matrixed environments and ability to lead up
  • Ability to operate as part of a team
  • Strong verbal and written communication, analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships at all organizational levels both internally and externally
  • Ability to perform effectively in a rapidly changing environment

Working Conditions

Wolverine Worldwide has a flexible, hybrid work schedule, with three days in office and two days remote.
